Oregon Fuchsia Society

Rijs 2001
This prolific bloomer has an encliandra type flower (tubular) with pink tube, greenish white sepals and white to light pink corollas. Blooms are ½ inch in length. It will grow to approximately 12 inches high and wide. Rijs is hardy in the ground but must be protected during winter months if grown in a pot.

What is a club plant?  Every year members of the Oregon Fuchsia Society grow a club plant. This is a plant that has been chosen by the club leadership. Upon arrival, they are the same size. Members take them home and transplant them into a pot, also determined by the leadership. After that every member grows them according to their own style and practices. In August, at the judged fuchsia show, members bring their club plant and there is a friendly competition to see whose plant grew the best. It is always interesting to see how differently all the plants grow.

Check back after the fuchsia show, August 11-13, to see members plants.
